Success Tips for your Job Interview
  • Prepare your Resume. Remember this is the starting point of your interview. So make your resume specific highlighting your strengths. Indicate what you have done so far, that is your experience and what a prospective employer can expect from you. If you can spell what is the benefit to a prospective employer by employing you, you have won half the battle.
  • How do stars and celebrities keep shining always, keep their motivation at top level, perform at their best. Find out and follow them.
  • To fight a and win a war, you need to have a strategy and plan to implement it. You must also have the resources to build the strategy and the plan to implement it. The following tips will help you by putting you on the right tract.

  • Prepare well. Preparation will make you fit and strong to face the interview questions.
  • Your resume should be perfect. No spelling mistakes or grammatical errors. Read it again and again. You will always find something that can be improved each time your read your resume.
  • The employer is not the only one who can ask questions. You can also ask question. Questions about your pay package, any other information about the company to understand the company and find out how you can fit into it. Prepare a list of such questions that you would like to ask.
  • Now comes the dress. It may be a repitition some, "First impression is the best ipression". Get a good dressed, well fitting, see that it is formal
    Suit: A conservative, two-piece dark grey or a dark blue business suit would be the ideal suit to wear on the day of your job interview.
    Shirt: A white, long-sleeved dress shirt that is neatly pressed and has a good fit is recommendable.
    Tie: Go for a plain colored, non-distracting, conservative dark blue or dark red necktie made of 100% pure silk.
    Tie accessories: A classic silver tie bar ensures that your tie is held in place during the interview. Without one, you often end up adjusting your tie several times during the interview, which will make you look nervous.
    Shoes: Clean and polished conservative dress shoes, black lace-ups if possible, would be your best choice.
    Socks: Dark socks, black if possible, would be ideally suited.
    Belt: The belt should match the color of your shoes, so go with a black one if possible
    Hair: Make sure that you get a well-groomed hairstyle before the interview. Be aware that short always fares best in interviews.
    Beard: A beard needs to be shaved off.
    Mustache: Mustaches are a possible negative, but if you must, then at least make sure it is neat and trimmed.
    Fingernails: Ensure that they are clean and trimmed.
    Rings: Wedding or college rings are generally acceptable but other rings are not.
    Earrings & piercings: Both earrings and visible body piercings should be taken out on the day of the interview.
    Body odor & fresh breath: Make sure that you do not smell badly and chew some gum before the interview, yet never during the interview.
    Perfume & cologne: Keep perfume and cologne to a minimum.
    Briefcase: Take along a briefcase with a notepad and a pen for any notes you may have to take during or after the interview.
  • Practise will make you perfect. Do a rehearsal of the interview at home. Take the help of your parents or friends for this. You can also record them and hear them. This will help you to know how is your voice, how confident is your replies, etc. Make a list of the questions you expect or anticipate from the prospective employer.
  • Keep a smile on your face.
    Learn and practise to control you breadth and stress. You can control them by taking deep breadths when you are stressed or anxious. Practise and improve your confidence and self esteem.
    Body language should be perfect. Shake hands with the interview, maintain eye – contact and keep a good posture.
    Be punctual. This itself will help you to control your stress and anxiety.
  • Don't have an attitude like "I have to get this job at any cost"
    Be your natural self. Bring out your good qualities and how your prospective employer can benefit by employing you

    Do not be dull or drap. Speak animatedly and lively. Show enthusiasm.
